Marina Serpagli, mezzosoprano.

 

BIOGRAPHY

Marina Serpagli gets her Conservatory Diploma in Lyrical Singing at Music Conservatory “G. Nicolini” in Piacenza and meanwhile she graduates in foreign languages at the University of Pavia, her hometown.

She speaks English, French and German.

She wins the 2022 edition of the International Singing Competitions for opera roles  Enzo Sordello (Cuneo). 

Her operatic activity starts at the Early Music Festival in Belgrade (Serbia) where, in cooperation with Italian Diplomacy, she performs the double role of Goddess Virtue and Arnalta in L’incoronazione di Poppea by Monteverdi at the Madlenianum Theatre. She furthermore takes part in a concert dedicated to Vivaldi at the National Museum in Belgrade.

Immedialtely after this performance, she sings the role of Marcellina in Le nozze di Figaro by Mozart at Teatro Rossini in Pesaro, under the guide of M. Donato Renzetti and director Leo Muscato. She is also Dorabella (Così fan tutte) at Rosetum Theatre in Milan, directed by Alberto Oliva,  and Dritte Dame/Dritter Knabe (Die Zauberflöte) at Manzoni Theatre in Monza, La Fabbrica Theatre in Villadossola (VB) and Teatro Sociale in Mantua with orchestra Canova and the conduction of M. Enrico Pagano. 

 She performs both roles of Angelina and Tisbe in La Cenerentola by Rossini: the first one in Teatro Alfieri in Asti, the second one on a long italian tour at Teatro Argentina in Rome, Teatro San Carlo in Neaples, Teatro Regio in Parma. 

She sings in three productions of Puccini's operas for the historical theatre Teatro del Giglio in Lucca: the famous Cartolina Pucciniana (dedicated to the “Trittico”) and Suor Angelica, also staged in Teatro Alighieri in Ravenna, conducted by M. Marco Guidarini and directed by Denis Krief. She furthermore is Zita in Gianni Schicchi at the Sala San Girolamo, directed by Aldo Tarabella.

Always as Zita, she takes part in the Festival della Parola in Parma, with M. Luigi Pagliarini and FOI Bruno Bartoletti Orchestra.

She teaches lyrical singing in an international Masterclass at the Beifang North Minzu University (China) followed by a live performance of the opera Madama Butterfly, where she sings the role of Suzuki.

She is part of the cast of the opera L’uccellino d’oro by Riccardo Zandonai, in a new production at the Philharmonic Hall in Rovereto (TN).

She performs the roles of Flora and Annina, in Verdi's La Traviata, at Bonoris Theatre in Montichiari, Brescia, with Orchestra dei Colli Morenici, and in San Giuseppe Theatre in Brugherio (MB) under the baton of M. Valter Borin. She is again Zita in Gianni Schicchi by Puccini for the "Compagnia d'Opera Italiana di Firenze", and Berta in Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia at Teatro Toselli in Cuneo.

 As a soloist, she sings in various concerts at important italian venues and Festivals: Aula del 400 Auditorium at the University of Pavia, Casa Verdi in Milan, Circolo Lirico Bolognese, Philharmonic Hall in Trento, Mantova Chamber Music Festival, Cuneo Calssica Festival, Concerts Society in Trieste.

She sings Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater with Nuova Cameristica di Milano Orchestra and Händel’s Messiah again with Canova Orchestra.

 She performs in the Petite Messe Solennelle by Rossini in Reggio Emilia.

She is among the protagonists of two important Festivals dedicated to baroque and early music: the Bellagio Festival, and the prestigious I tesori di Orfeo, in Fraschini theatre, Pavia.

Immediately later she performs Rossini's Stabat Mater in Seibelsdorf, Germany, conducted by M. Marius Popp.

She sings in the quartet of soloists in Beethoven's IX Symphony, at the Sala Verdi of Milan Conservatory, conducted by M. Sergio Delmastro, with Contrarco orchestra.

She takes part in a tour in northern Germany with Verdi's Messa da Requiem, accompanied by Süddeutsche Ärztechor und Ärzteorchester.

Among 2024 commitments, the performance of Mass n. 3 in f-moll by Anton Bruckner.
